According to The Seattle Times, a riot at the King County Jail broke out. Police reported that a few of the inmates had homemade knives and broke some of the windows. After about 40 minutes and after the SWAT team showed up, the prisoners calmed down and went to their cells.
Ireland’s pubs had one of their worst financial years, according to Reuters. Alcohol consumption in Ireland fell 9.6 percent in the past year and has forced the pub industry to eliminate 15,000 jobs in the past 18 months.
Raves:
According to the Washington Post, the world’s longest line for the bathroom was broken last Monday. It was held by a group of people in honor of World Water Day, which brings attention to getting clean water around the world.
ABC news reported that President Barack Obama went on a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday. He has given a couple of speeches to troops and has planned “urgent talks” with the president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai.
