Rants:
A Thai anti-government protestor threw bags of human excrement into Thailand’s prime minister’s house last Monday, according to the American Free Press. Deputy Premier Suthep Thaugsuban blamed the attack on protestors supporting the ousted former-premier.
Just one month after opening, the world’s tallest building has closed, according to The Chicago Tribune. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai has yet to acquire any tenants, and electrical problems closed the 124th-floor observation deck. There is no word as to when the building will reopen.
Raves:
The city of Costa Mesa, Calif., is seeking donations to create a dog-poop-bag dispenser program to help clean up its city streets, according to The Orange County Register. The program would be used to clean up after the estimated 14,000 dogs in the city.
UW forward Quincy Pondexter won his fourth Pac-10 Player of the Week award this season, tying the record for most Player of the Week honors won in a season. With four weeks left in the season, Pondexter has a good shot at breaking the record by winning the award five times.
