A Lebanese man was condemned to death for sorcery on Thursday by a court in Saudi Arabia, according to CNN. Ali Hussain Sibat, the man charged with the crime, was on a pilgrimage when the police arrested him. They have not released the details of the crime or commented on the case.

According to The New York Times, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit Baja California, Mexico, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The shaking was felt from Los Angles to Tijuana. No deaths had been reported at press time.

Raves:

The USS Nicholas, a U.S. Navy vessel, has captured a pirate ship in the Indian Ocean, according to CNN. The Navy suspects that the ship might be a “mother ship,” which could cripple piracy operations in the area.

According to MSNBC, new U.S. fuel-efficiency standards will be raised by 10 miles per gallon in the next six years. The requirement makes the standard an average of 35.5 mpg between all cars and pickups.
