Championship series game thread from OKC: UW vs. Florida, Game 2
By Christian Caple — June 2, 2009
NATIONAL CHAMPS--That about says it. More later.
HERE WE GO--Top 7, still 3-2 Huskies. Three outs left in the season for the Gators.
3 OUTS AWAY FROM HISTORY--It's 3-2 Huskies in the bottom of the sixth inning now, and they're three outs away from claiming the first national championship in program history. Stay tuned.
LAWRIE ESCAPES AGAIN--She's not taking the easy road, that's for sure. Lawrie works out of another bases-loaded jam, striking out Corrie Brooks looking to keep this a 3-2 game as we go now to the bottom of the fifth inning.
LAWRIE ESCAPES--She's getting tested today, but worked out of a first-and-third jam with a strikeout and a nice play at shortstop by Jenn Salling. It's still 3-2, UW leading heading to the bottom of the fourth.
HUSKIES TAKE THE LEAD--But they leave the bases loaded as Nelson gets a flyout and a groundout to get out of it. The run scored on a little tapper back to Nelson by Morgan Stuart that Nelson bobbled.
PITCHERS BACK ON TRACK--Both Nelson and Lawrie get through the second inning unscathed. Still 2-2 heading to the third.
AND WE START OVER--Kimi Pohlman scores on a wild pitch, and we head to the second inning with a 2-2 tie.
HUSKIES GET ONE BACK--On a single by Lawrie. Still runners on first and third with one out.
GATORS STRIKE AGAIN, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE--They pick up another on a sacrifice fly, but UW gets out of it with a lineout double play. Decent damage control.
NOT A GOOD START--Well, Florida didn't waste any time getting to Lawrie in this one. A leadoff triple by Aja Paculba and a passed ball have given the Gators a 1-0 lead, and an error and an infield single have runners on first and second with nobody out. Looks like that beating last night has woken Florida up.

There’s an amazing film coming soon to Seattle that I can’t wait to see. Audience of One will be at the Northwest Film Forum July 17-19. It’s a documentary chronicling Richard Gazowsky in his attempt to make an epic biblical science fiction movie. Guided by a directive from God, He and his church attempt to make a film that could cost up to 100 million dollars and redefine the Hollywood epic. Director Michael Jacobs follows the church in their unwavering dependence in God despite the many obstacles in their way. A humorous and moving film about faith, obsession, and delusion. Modern version of Don Quixote. Incredible!

Spot reduction is a myth that consists in believing that exercising and training a particular body part will preferentially shed the fat on that part. For example, doing sit-ups is not the best way to reduce subcutaneous belly fat. One cannot reduce fat from one area of the body to the exclusion of others. Most of the energy derived from fat gets to the muscle through the bloodstream and reduces stored fat in the entire body, from the last place where fat was deposited. Sit-ups may improve the size and shape of abdominal muscles but will not specifically target belly fat for loss. Such exercise might help reduce overall body fat and shrink the size of fat cells.
