Some quick notes (followed by videos) from Tuesday morning's football practice:
-Personnel notes: wearing yellow jerseys today were linebacker Cory Littleton, safety Kevin King, and running back Ryan McDaniel. Remaining on the sidelines were offensive linemen Dexter Charles and Micah Hatchie. However, running backs Jesse Callier and Dwayne Washington were back in uniform, participating in some drills, but not wearing pads or taking any hits. In addition, a number of players were absent because of class conflicts.
-After appearing to injure his lower leg in Saturday's practice, defensive lineman Jarett Finau did not practice. He was in attendance, but was walking with a noticeable limp on Tuesday.
-Some more potentially troubling injury news hit Tuesday, as safety Brandon Beaver left practice early with a right arm or shoulder injury and returned with his arm in a makeshift sling. He had previously been looked at by a trainer and appeared to be grimacing in pain. This is an unfortunate blow for a player who had been opening eyes as a potential replacement for the departed Sean Parker.
-Earlier in practice, Beaver was resonsible for grabbing the defense's first turnover of the day, picking off a deflected Troy Williams pass. The defense got the ball one more during Tuesday's session, when Shaq Thompson stripped John Ross of the football and recovered it, running it back for what likely would have been a touchdown if not for a whistle.
