The ASUW Student Senate is close to breaking last year’s membership record of 150 senators.
This year, there are about 145 senators — so many that the group is moving its meetings from the HUB to Gowen 301, which can accommodate more people. The next meeting will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Last week, the group passed A Resolution in Support of Cake, a piece of legislation designed to teach new senators the nuances of parliamentary procedure. The group also passed an organic act outlining participation rules for this session.
The Board of Directors (BOD) made a number of committee appointments at Thursday’s meeting. The group also hired Maxine Sugarman as the Elections Administrative Committee Chair. In this position, Sugarman will oversee the BOD elections this spring.
The next BOD meeting will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in HUB 303.
