UWPD officer placed on leave after criminal act

A six-year officer of the UW Police Department (UWPD) was placed on administrative leave yesterday after an alleged criminal act against another officer, according to the UWPD.

The police said the incident followed a dispute between two officers and occurred in a UWPD office. Later, during an administrative interview, one officer reported that the other officer performed a criminal act.

The UWPD Office of Professional Standards and the Seattle Police Department are currently investigating the incident.

UWPD was unable to comment beyond the initial report or identify the officer.
