Freeway Park — Learn how to waltz, polka, foxtrot and swing dance in downtown Seattle at this outdoor dance event accompanied by the Steve Rice Orchestra. The theme of the evening is Ball Blanc, where everyone dresses in something white. Lessons start at 6 p.m., and dancing begins at 7.

Design Your Neighborhood final projects
Alvord Art Lab — This work, displayed at the Olympic Sculpture Park, is the collaboration of a group of teenagers sketching, photographing and redesigning one of Seattle’s neighborhoods. The exhibit runs through Sept. 27, and admission is free.
