4 to 9 p.m. — Ladies Night
Seattle Center — Skate Like a Girl will host clinics throughout the rest of the summer to teach women how to skateboard. Events take place in the park at Thomas Street and 2nd Avenue North, and beginner’s lessons start at 6 p.m. This evening’s event caters to the 21-and-over crowd, with an afterparty at Neumos.

Noon to 1 p.m. — City Hall Becomes Concert Hall
City Hall — This free lunchtime concert will feature The Jelly Rollers, a blues and roots rock band.

6 to 8 p.m. — Concerts at the Mural
Seattle Center — Bands Blitzen Trapper and Throw me the Statue will perform at this free outdoor concert as part of the culturally diverse independent music scene.

Saturday, Aug. 1
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Arab Festival
Seattle Center — Traditional Middle Eastern music, dancing and food are part of this two-day festival that lasts until Aug. 2. Cultural attractions such as an Arabic film series, storytelling, a fashion show and workshops will be included in the celebration.

Noon to 1:30 p.m. — Summer Sundays in the Park
Waterfront Park — These weekly African-American cultural performances last until Aug. 16 and are presented by the Adefua African Music and Dance Company.

4 to 8 p.m. — Cascade Block Party
333 Pontius Ave. — This event includes free barbecue and live entertainment from The Hoot Hoots and Poetic Groove as part of the National Night Out crime- and drug-prevention program.
