In response to “Hysterical hypocrisy: Stop judging women politicians by their gender alone,” by Rachel Solomon, July 15:

Rachel,

I just wanted to say, I loved your article on women politicians. As a Hillary Clinton voter, then a John McCain/Sarah Palin voter, I witnessed on a nightly basis the double standards and advantages that male politicians had, and it was frustrating to deal with. As many steps as Hillary Clinton took forward, there was always someone to push the movement back a few steps. I feel good about the future of women in politics, but Americans need to realize that some issues are more important than how much Palin’s clothes cost.
