1. The UW softball team beats Florida 3-2 to claim the first national championship in school history, behind another gutsy effort from national player of the year Danielle Lawrie.
2. Fans storm the court and watch as members of the UW men’s basketball team cut down pieces of the net following their victory over Washington State, a win that clinched the school’s first-ever outright Pac-10 title.
3. Steve Sarkisian is hired to take over the UW football program.
4. Jake Locker is flagged for excessive celebration after tossing the ball into the air following a late touchdown against BYU, moving the PAT back 15 yards. The kick was blocked, and the loss propelled the UW to its worst season in school history.
5. After a triple-overtime loss in the Apple Cup, Tyrone Willingham stares down a reporter after being asked if he would be on the sidelines for the UW’s final game.
6. The UW swimming program is cut due to budget constraints in the athletic department.
7. Dominant from beginning to end, the UW women’s cross-country team claims a national championship.
8. Tyrone Willingham is fired mid-season after an embarrassing loss to Notre Dame, but he was allowed to stay until the end of the season.
9. Jon Brockman’s career comes to an end following a hard-fought loss to Purdue in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
10. Brandon Roy’s number is retired in Hec Edmundson Pavilion prior to the Huskies’ game against USC this season.

This list may have come out before the amazing sweep of the IRA Regatta by the Husky men. This one belongs right up next to the softball accomplishment.
The varsity win over Cal was a stunning comeback, and the JV and Frosh were dominant. Crew is a great tradition at UW, and the men got back to where they belong: at the very top.
