1. Oregon: Could be a pretty hard season for UW fans to swallow if the Ducks keep playing the way they are right now. But remember what happened two years ago, when they appeared to be in the driver’s seat but fell apart after Dennis Dixon got hurt. Arizona’s still left on the schedule.
2. USC: Could the Trojans be relegated to the Holiday Bowl? At this point, even that’s not a given.
3. Arizona: Remember that the Wildcats are the only other team besides Oregon who controls their own destiny. And they get the Ducks at home.
4. California: The Bears are slowly starting to show why people thought they could be a threat in the Pac-10 this year. It’s too late for them to win the conference, but this could still end up being a nice year.
5. Oregon State: Two tough road games at California and Oregon left for the Beavers. But they’ve also got WSU left on the schedule, so a sixth win and another bowl bid are a certainty.
6. Stanford: Cardinal only needs one more win to get to a bowl, but all four of its remaining games are against ranked teams: Oregon at home, at USC, then Cal and Notre Dame at home. An 0-4 finish isn’t out of the question.
7. Arizona State: Sun Devils had a chance to steal one from Cal but couldn’t pull it out at home. A bowl game looks like a long shot now.
8. Washington: Will this be the year the Huskies finally win at UCLA? They’ll have to if they want to retain any shot at a .500 record this year.
9. UCLA: Five consecutive losses has to be wearing on Rick Neuheisel and his Bruins. A sixth loss against UW this week would really start to make people wonder if that program is going in the right direction.
10. Washington State: Bad.
