University of California students are continuing to protest a 32-percent tuition increase proposed for next year. The biggest protest was at at UC Santa Cruz, sparked by University of California, Berkeley, students. The San Jose Mercury News reported that hundreds of students halted the negotiation process at UCSC Saturday; police contained the protesters.

According to The New York Times, The Twilight Saga: New Moon sold $140.7 million in tickets in North America over the weekend. The movie cost $50 million to produce. To put $140 million in perspective, a recent European Space Agency mission to send a probe to the moon cost roughly the same amount.

Raves:

Former UW head football coach Tyrone Willingham is now available to book for public appearances. Reuters reported that an 81-year-old Australian man who went on a drive to get the morning newspaper and traveled 400 miles, getting lost in the process, eventually got his paper. Eric Steward, the driver, stopped at a gas station and asked a policeman where he was late Wednesday night after a nine-hour drive.
