According to Reuters, the U.S. budget deficit is predicted to reach a record $1.4 trillion. A steady series of tax cuts coupled with a rise in government spending has contributed to the deficit. This is close to 10 percent of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product.
Kate Gosselin, mother from Jon and Kate Plus 8, is demanding that her estranged husband pay back money withdrawn from a joint bank account before the two separated. The husband, Jon Gosselin, accuses Kate Gosselin of hiding the money, saying that he hasn’t withdrawn any money within the last 10 years, acoording to NYdailynews.com.
Raves:
According to telegraph.co.uk, Chad Hurley, founder of YouTube, is reporting that YouTube now receives more than 1 billion hits every day. Hurley claims “13 hours of video are uploaded onto YouTube every minute.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, an American has won this year’s Golden Spurtle award for best porridge. The contest was held in Carrbridge, Inverness-shire, Scotland, where the winner, Matthew Cox, won a cook-off against last year’s champion. The contest helped raise funds for the charity May’s Meals, which helps feed children in developing countries.
