Rants & Raves

Rants

Flint, Mich., police are cracking down on saggy pants. The police chief sent a memo warning that people with exposed buttocks would face penalties for indecent exposure.

Mysteriously disappearing honeybees are adding to the higher prices of food, say farmers and beekeepers who face bee shortages. Bees are responsible for a valued $15 billion a year in pollination.

Raves

Orthodontia may have saved the life of a Michigan 18-year-old when his braces broke up a .45-caliber bullet during a street shooting.

As gas prices have increased and drivers slow down or stay home, a new study has shown that driving deaths have dropped and could result in one-third fewer deaths per year. The study estimates a drop of about 1,000 deaths a month at the current rate.
