Rants and Raves

Rants —

A Phillippine family emigrating to Winnepeg, Canada accidentally left their 23-month-old boy behind at the Vancouver, B.C. airport after they became separated in the rush to board their plane. The toddler was cared for by airport personnel until his father could return to Vancouver.

“Ants” are shorting out electronic equipment in southeast Texas. The non-native species apparently get stuck in fragile circuits.

Raves —

According to the World Database of Happiness, Denmark is the happiest place on earth. The United States is the 17th.

The statue of the Greek hero Atlas in Rockefeller Center is set to get a scrub-down next week. The 7-ton sculpture has needed a good cleaning for years.
