Case timeline for British student Meredith Kercher’s murder
Nov. 1 —
About 8:30 p.m.: UW student Amanda Knox is at Italian student Raffaele Sollecito’s apartment when she receives a text message from bar owner Patrick Diya Lumumba about an appointment later in the evening. Knox and Sollecito later tell a judge they had spent the entire afternoon smoking hashish.
9 p.m.: Knox and Sollecito meet Lumumba in a plaza. Video surveillance shows Knox returning to her home that night.
Between 10–11 p.m.: Meredith Kercher, roommate of Knox, dies from stab wounds to the neck; she is an apparent victim of sexual assault.
Nov. 2 —
Morning: Knox and Sollecito wake up in Sollecito’s apartment. Knox returns home to shower.
12:35 p.m.: Italian police arrive at Knox and Kercher’s apartment after a cell phone is found in a neighbor's yard. Officers find Knox and Sollecito, who claim they called the police because they found a broken window.
12:51 p.m.: Sollecito phones the police to report a break-in, despite the fact that police are already at the apartment.
1 p.m.: Police find the door to Kercher's room locked. When they break it down, they discover Kercher's body covered with a blanket.
Sometime during the evening: Knox tells investigators she'd last seen Kercher the previous afternoon, before spending the night at Sollecito's house. Sollecito confirms Knox’s version of events.
Nov. 5 —
Sollecito tells investigators he had previously lied at the insistence of Knox. He claims he met Knox that night, but they separated later in the evening.
Nov. 6 —
Knox changes her story, claiming she and Sollecito were at the apartment when she heard Kercher screaming from her bedroom. Knox states that Kercher was in her room with Lumumba.
“At one point I heard Meredith scream,” she tells the Italian press. “I was horrified. I put my fingers in my ears. After that, I don’t remember anything. I was very confused.”
Police seize potential evidence at Sollecito’s home, including a collection of knives and a pair of Nike shoes matching a footprint found near Kercher’s body.
Knox, Sollecito and Lumumba spend their first night in jail.
Nov. 8 —
Prosecutors interrogate Knox, Sollecito and Lumumba with their lawyers present to make the case to keep them in custody. All three claim their innocence.
Nov. 9 —
Judge Claudia Matteini rules that all three suspects pose a flight risk and demonstrate serious indications of guilt. She rules that the three will remain in custody for up to a year (Italian law) while the investigation continues.
Nov. 10 —
Knox tells her mother, Edda Mellas, that she wasn’t at home when Kercher died, despite previous claims.
Nov. 14 —
Reports leak that police found Knox and Kercher’s DNA on a knife belonging to Sollecito. While there was no blood evidence, Kercher’s DNA was found near the tip of the knife, while Knox’s appeared close to the handle.
Nov. 19 —
An international warrant is put out for Guede’s arrest, whose bloody fingerprint is found on Kercher’s pillowcase.
Nov. 20 —
7:16 a.m.: Guede is apprehended on a train near Mainz, Germany.
Lumumba is released from custody, due to lack of evidence.
Nov. 23 —
Sollecito writes a letter to his father, claiming that while Knox lives in a dream world, “Amanda is not a killer.”

The most interesting part is that coincidentally Knox and Solecito on the night of the murder did a fantastic job cleaning both of their residences.
Solecito's place was regularly cleaned by a cleaning lady hence there was no reason for him to clean his place.
Did I mention that this was the night of the murder.
In regards to Knox, her flat mates complained about Knox's hygiene and her refusal to participate in the cleaning roaster of the share house. In other words Knox used her flat mates as her personal cleaning servants without compensation much to the dismay of the other flat mates.
Did I mention that Knox cleaned her place coincidentally on the night of the murder. Double coincidentally that this was the same night Solecito cleaned his place. Then Knox falsely accused an innocent person of the murder to deflect the suspicion from herself.
Considering all the other overwhelming coincidences I can not see how a jury would let Knox and the other two off.
What next, a book deal and interview deals?
I can imagine the head lines "We made millions and got away with it. We plan on doing it again because it pays!"
Coincidentally just hours before the murder the trio threatened someone in the car park with a knife.

Herb - You, my good sir, are an idiot.
With that said, give Knox ten years for being an overprivileged, worthless twat. Give the Italian kid the same - for the same offense... Give the "spicey Kebab" guy life without parole for doing the deed - and for being yet another crime-ridden piece of filth from Africa, who scammed his way into western Europe.

Why did Amanda speak by phone with Guede before and after the murder? Lie about Lumumba? Where can I get the really good dope that made them forget everything? It's pretty obvious that Amanda and R. S. cleaned and staged the scene, broke windows, Meredith's blood smeared everywhere, in downstairs apartment as well. Now, why would they do that?
I think A. stole M's money, M confronted and melee ensued, "sex attack" part of humiliation or even staged to look like sex attack.Think maybe the poo left intentionally re housemates' complaints about Amanda doing the same.

If she is innocent, why aren't they releasing her? They have more evidence against her than they are letting on, make no mistake. What about the April Fool's joke she played on a roommate in Seattle? Mighty similar to what happened to Meridith.

I am a investigator that CBS News hired to investigate the Knox matter in Italy. It is disturbing that her fellow Americans are so quick to judge her on rumor, innuendo, and nonsense. I urge all of you, no matter what your opinion to watch 48 Hours on CBS on Saturday, April 12, 2008. I believe that the show comes on at 8:00 p.m. pst, however you'd better check.
I cannot talk or answer any questions prior to that date, but I urge all of you to give Amanda the same courtesy that you would give one of your friends or family members if they were to find themselves in a similar situation.
Many of your comments to date are frankly disturbing and your sources of information have zero credibility. Please give one of your fellow students a break guy's. You wont be sorry. Thank you.

Lilith, oh please do tell about the April Fool AK played on her roommate.
Thank you for your post, Paul. I look forward to seeing your report.
I'm not unsympathetic to Amanda, but I think that is because I think she had a lot to do with what happened to Meredith. It was painful to hear of the way she behaved according to other witnesses, and her testimony, her close study of scripture pertaining to forgiveness according to the priest who visited her. It looks like a young person who has realized what terrible consequences for everyone, and what deep trouble she is in. Anyone can lose control.

Whistle,
It would seem that Amanda thought it would be great fun to scare some roommates of hers by having some other friends of hers simulate an assault and break-in. Complete with ski masks on. Harmless April Fool's Day prank, eh? I don't think she was laughing this April Fool's Day when she got to hear that she was staying right where she was.
Who writes a letter to her mom in class after their roommate has been viciously murdered stating she wants mom to take her shopping and then mom can meet her roommates? Well, all except for the dead one, mom.
Sorry but I don't care how much money Paul is getting from the Knox's or CBS or Joe Tacopina for that matter. Her roommate Filomena was there too when the cops broke Meredith's door down and she was also questioned for hours and yet she isn't sitting in jail, is she? While I think Guede was involved as well, out of the three of them he is the ONLY one who has shown any kind of remorse or acknowledgment that the victim was NOT one Amanda Knox, but a girl from the UK named Meredith Kercher. I'm American and am appalled by all the "rally around the home team" garbage that flies all around this case. She is guilty, of what I'm not sure, the actual knifing, the clean up, the plan? But she had a hand in it and she should be prosecuted fully. I'd say that if she was my own sister or my mother. 'Nuff said.

Paul,
I highly doubt that the majority of the negative comments here are from Amanda's classmates.
There is a band of UK citizens that seem to comment very rudely, and ignorantly I might add, on any story written about this case. It is also typical that very rude comments are made to those that write the articles. It appears to be a hobby.

I am astonished that so many are able to "convict" AK so easily without knowing the facts. The Italian justice system is a big part of the problem. Even the judge herself has leaked her opinions to the press...opinions that seem to have little basis in fact. There is absolutely nothing about AK's past that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that she is capable of murder. The Italian ivestigators are so obviously incompetent. Just this week they found several new bloody footprints at the scene. It is 5 months since the murder and they were just discovered!?!? Come on now. That is ridiculous.

Rebecca,
Those foot prints you mention were found some time ago. Problem is, people goof up translations from Italian to English. Who leaked the footage of Meredith Kercher's dead body to your friend's little boyfriend's hometown TV program? The defense has access to all that, too. Who leaked the info on the BAC from Meredith's SECOND autopsy? Alcohol ferments you know. Desperate people take desperate measures. Why didn't Filomena Romanelli 'break down' and give a false confession after hours of interrogation? If the Italians are so very inept and just looking for a sex-type murder of orgiastic proportions, why isn't Filomena sitting in a jail cell, too? By the way, and perhaps one of the Amanda Knox Fan Club can answer this, since when is accusing an innocent man of murder a "false confession"? Wouldn't that be a false accusation? Face it, she lied, lied again, accused someone else, says she can't remember anything because she was too stoned, yet she remembers taking a shower and Harry Potter cleaning out her ears? She doesn't need god, she needs to meet a bitch-slapping Goddess who won't put up with her spoiled, jealous self.

Is Amanda Knox innocent of character assassination?
What about the consequences resulting from Amanda Knox falsely accusing the bar owner?
Yet, Amanda Knox's supporters whether paid for their support or not still maintain that she did not lie, or have they changed their stance?
The bar owner was subsequently arrested and jailed for weeks.
Not only that, he was deprived of his income to support his family and even when he was released he was not allowed to open his business for several month. The cost of business leases is a multiple of that for residential space. The result for the bar owner is that he had not been earning an income, while at the same time incurring very high liabilities as a result of having to continue to make lease payments while not having any revenue from his business.
Furthermore, incurring other expenses (loses) such as having food going off in his kitchen and no doubt there would be more cost factors for him. The damage done to the innocent person's reputation will not doubt have an effect on the success of his business, it could even be fatal for his business and negatively effect future endeavors to get his live back together.
If Amanda Knox did lie once would it be likely that she might have lied more than once?
Did Amanda Knox apologize to Patrick Lumumba and offer compensation for the huge financial damage her defamatory allegations caused to his reputation, not to mention the emotional side of being wrongly accused by the murder suspect?
To anyone who believes in justice please make your thoughts publicly known.
I do not receive any financial or other type of benefit, e.g. free publicity, self promotion, advertising revenue et cetera, from posting my opinion.
Whoever was involved in the murder should be dealt with appropriately. The worst thing that could happen is that we see history repeat itself and letting a murderer go free.
Not another OJ S case please.

If people here choose to find some obtuse rationale for every lie served up by the suspects and each new piece of potent evidence that is revealed, well have at it. These are the people who aren't looking at things objectively, as opposed to those such as myself. Indeed, if there were a shred of anything tangible that pointed to the innocence of the suspects, I would happily make the argument. Interestingly, that has not occurred. There has been a mountain of lies from the suspects. Who could argue otherwise? Not only are their stories patently ridiculous, but they have all supplied more than one version. As to the evidence, I do believe that there will be a veritable mountain of that too, when all is said and done.
Something else I am quite sure of is that, no matter what, certain people will insist on the innocence of those convicted. Those may include the members of the 'Cult of Amanda Knox.' Perhaps it was that brief, charmingly intoxicated video performance that cast a spell, or the freckle-faced freshness of her girl-next-door look (would you feel the same if she was a 300-lb ogre with bad teeth?), or is it hometown loyalty? Maybe it is simply too unpleasant to accept that a young, successful and seemingly happy student could possibly be involved in such a sordid mess.
Personally, I hope that something is terribly amiss and that Knox had nothing to do with the death of Ms. Kercher. Intellectually, I find this highly unlikely. That is not to say that I believe Knox stuck that knife in Ms. Kercher's neck. On that specific point, who can say? It may be true or it may not be. That opinion does not extend to the question of whether she was in the house. She admitted that she was present, though of course, she later retracted that admission.
Paul are you hoping for genuine justice, or hoping someone goes free who may actually be guilty? And have you given any thought to what the Kercher family has gone through? Or have all your sympathies been used up on Ms. Knox?

The only known facts are: Meredith is dead - and Guede left his poo floating in the toilet. The rest is an Italian play that has been written in part by the media, Italian police, and others wanting part of the drama.

Amanda's first officially known brush with the law was a party she had at her place. According to the report, bottles and other objects were thrown at passing cars and neighbours properties and her rental property was vandalised too.
On another occasion Amanda persuaded some friends to an "April 1 fools joke".
The friends dressed up in ski masks and aggressively broke into accommodation Amanda was sharing with her room mates who did not know about Amanda's master plan and were terrorised by the burglars.
In addition consider her published violent fantasies.
It seems that these occurrences are linked, a psychological profile seems to be emerging and it is not a pleasant one.
As far as I am concerned, the police should not charge the three suspects until the very last day and utilise the time to build their case. This will hopefully result in very high sentences for the people who murdered Meredith Kercher.
To me it seems that Amanda seems to enjoy bringing a lot grief to the people she comes in contact with.
In my opinion several media outlets report very sympathetically about Amanda which I consider an injustice.
The victims are the murdered student, her family, her friends and the falsely accused person.
What about unbiased investigative journalism?
Lets face it, what are the odds that Amanda will be found not guilty. Considering the existing evidence it is most unlikely that Amanda will not be given a long jail sentence.

The suspected murder trio has less support in Europe than in the US.
After the verdict has been announced the suspected murderers will no longer be referred to as suspected murderers.
It seem that the PR firm which does the heavy lobbying in the US is not lobbying in Europe or they might have been told that misrepresentation is not acceptable.
Then we have the lawyers who might or might not get paid who talk about Amanda Knox's innocence. In the very least if they don't get money they do get public exposure to their name which is even more valuable when presented as news as opposed to paid for advertising, which everyone assumes to be biased.
In other words these lawyers or private investigators use/play the media to help themselves to free publicity worth thousands of dollars, if the PR were paid for.
Furthermore, we have a news site/blog were the journalist admitted to be a friend of the Knox' family.
In addition, we have the relatives and other friends of the still to be referred to murder suspect.
When looking at the circumstantial evidence it is clear that Amanda Knox is involved, the only question is which part she took and what part the other two had.
What is more important justice or the professional manipulation of the media by those who can effort to pay for it?
I prefer justice! It seems the European sites prefer justice as well.

I would consider this an attempt at perversion of justice.

Anyone with at least average intelligence can see from the circumstantial evidence that has been released so far, that Amanda Knox might not be innocent. Some strongly suspect she might be guilty of first degree murder. If she were innocent, why would she have lied to the police, why would she have falsely accused someone who has never been to the house. The list of whys goes on and on and on...

"Knox's parents explain to Cutting Edge why they think their daughter is innocent, and the heartbreak they experience every time they see her in prison."
What else would her parents say, really!
I am sick of media prostitution! I do not want to read crocodile's tears stories about the suspected murderer!
The media should be more sympathetic to the real victims.
By all means, write about Meredith Kercher, the effect it had on her relatives. Write about other victims like Amanda Knox's landlord who has no rental income for nearly halve a year while still having to pay out goings like council rates, mortgage repayments and the cost of renovations to the building. No doubt the place will be difficult to rent out when the owner eventually is allowed to have use of his/her building again and will have to substantially discount the rental to attract any takers.
What about the huge legal costs the bar owner who was falsely accused by the murder suspect Amanda Knox has incurred. He would face a big legal bill just to defend himself even though he is innocent.
I don't mind if murderers have high legal costs to pay but not real innocent people.
The media should be more rational and most of all should display at least some degree of ethics.

Paul Ciolino is presented as a private investigator. However google presents him differently, as a lawyer.
CBS presents him as a top PI, implying impartiality. Of course if CBS were to present Paul Ciolino as a lawyer than viewers might suspect that his opinion could be favourable towards Knox.
Manufacturing Consent is book published by Noam Chomsky(?). what we see here is the manufacturing of opinion and heavy lobbing by Knox & Co.

Those reader who do not want to be told what to think are more likely to use a search engine and do their own research and then they find out that the reporting in the USA is completely different to that in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
With the US media omitting highly relevant incriminating details and presenting the prime suspect completely differently to what the people in Perugia have to say about Amanda Knox. Someone who lives in the US and only reads the stories publish by the US media, which might be heavily influenced by the hired PR firm could come to the conclusion that Knox is innocent.
I do not live in the US or in Europe for that matter and it is obvious how differently Knox is presented and how the bad information about Knox is either minimised or completely omitted. My advice, if you want the truth use a search engine and read about this case in the media in other countries and see the difference in reporting and make up your own mind.

When you write to your Congressperson you might want to mention your dissatisfaction with the American media not publishing incriminating evidence and misrepresenting the case to make it appear to the reader as though Amanda Knox might had no involvement in this murder.
As someone who speaks four languages and English not being my native language I realise that the American journalism is unique in not publishing info about the case, which makes it appear that there are strong indicators for Amanda Knox not being innocent.
This is further supported by the fact that ABC news have deleted two of my posts republishing info widely available on the net, just not in the US, incriminating the murder suspect Amanda Knox.
Do you really want that someone who might have participated and planed a murder, evades punishment.

1) The above statement is incorrect.
The murder suspects mother has publicly stated that there was an interpreter present when police questioned her.
2) There is DNA from three people, the three suspects.
3) What would have caused Ms Knox to suddenly discovered hygiene the night after the murder when several witnesses confirm that there problems with hygiene.

Mr. Ciolini believes that by dint of being a Jesuit-educated, honor student, Amanda Knox couldn't have done the things of which she are accused. Would that it were so; that background always determined behavior.
Perhaps someone might remind him that, 30 years ago, a young man who was also a honors student, a promising young legal mind whom many thought might one day be the governor of Washington State, was accused of multiple murders. One of those who, initially, felt that there was no way this former student could have done the things of which he'd been accused, was his friend, the late political reporter, Richard Larson.
However, a jury felt differently, after looking at all the evidence. The looked at the evidence and concluded that indeed, Ted Bundy was a murderer, despite his fine education, high intellect and good connections. Of course, Mr. Bundy showed what sort of lawyer he might have been, by acting as his own attorney - after other resigned - and holding off his own death sentence, for 10 years.
Perhaps, if it goes to trial, a jury will conclude that Amanda Knox was an accessory to murder. There are all sorts of seeming anomalies, in connection with murder and sex, in the human race. People are oftentimes as sick as the secrets they hold. Amanda Knox may not be the "little girl" that her mother believes she still is. The face she presented to her mother, and the face she presented to others, were perhaps quite different.
Given the evidence which the other dectective points to, if I was a betting man, I'd say that Amanda Knox is guilty of being an accessory to murder. Dectectives should understand, just a good journalists do, that once you turn over certain rocks, you find all kind of creatures beneath, in a manner of speaking.
As Charles Dickens once reportedly said, "Everyone's a suspect."

I bet Amanda's parents lobbied US senators, congresspersons, US embassy in Italy to stand up for their daughter, but none of them did.
Why?
They know Amanda is not innocent. Why do you firmly believe Guede is "the one"? Because he left fingerprints? So did Amanda! Amanda really did a great job to clean up the crime scene---she left not a single fingerprint in her own room. (Remember, she was living there.) However, Italian forensic still found one of Amanda's bloody fingerprint at the crime scene, and one stain of her blood blended with Kercher's blood at the scence.

There is obviously a systematic effort on the part of Knox's family and friends including the Private Investigators they have hired, (also a young girl by the name of Candice in Seattle who calls herself a journalist, constantly writes blogs) to portray Knox as innocent. Not everyone in the US is stupid. People who have followed the case from the beginning know the evidence against her is enormous. These TV shows, like 48 hours which will air tonight, are mostly to engage the viewers unfamiliar with the story to rally "for the home team" and that the whole thing against this girl is Anti-American sentiment in Italy... Plain ridiculous.Several Italian Judges who have gone over all the facts in this case did not let Amanda go on April 1, not even to house arrest. These three will get justice no matter how much some here in the US try to change public opinion.

It also bears repeating that those here in the States are relying on translations from Italian to English and a number of things have been misreported simply because the US media can't be bothered to do their research (hence, The Sean Hannity Show, Rush the Windbag and Anne the Man Coulter spew garbage as fact and their little goldfish eat it right up because they can't be bothered to do any fact-checking. (Ob) Knox (ious) is guilty, of the actual knifing or just the clean-up (oh, yes, there was indeed a clean-up) remains to be seen but Italy isn't some third world country, their forensic experts know what they are doing.

Regarding the clean-up. I find it so ironic. Amanda never cleaned, she wouldn't even flush the toilet after she was done. Yet, the night Meredith was murdered she cleaned up her room. Sollcito, had a maid, never cleaned up, yet the night of the murder he also decided to clean his apartment, with newly purchased bleach. Not the type the maid usually bought.

""Hey USAgymnastics08, everybody has lied, the newspapers, the Italian police, the prosecutors, everyone... but Knox, and you of course. Get a life!"

A lot more."

It is clear that you know a lot about criminal investigations, having a law degree certainly helps.
You also know about electronic marketing, marketing in general, publicity, PR, market segmentation and niche marketing.
Just enter your name into a search engine and it becomes evident that you are using Brand Marketing techniques.
Someone who needs a lawyer is catered for by your lawyer brand, someone who needs a lawyer which can be presented as private investigator can utilise your private investigator brand and avail themselves of your impression management and image management know how as a bonus.
In addition, this has the added advantage that a person who does not have any back ground information will have a different assessment of the information you provide based on whether you are a lawyer or a private investigator.
Some people might think that it is beyond reasonable doubt that Amanda Knox is involved in this murder.
What is not known yet, though they believe, is the extend of her involvement.
I would like the Court system to deal with the case, not Knox's private army.
The reason why I speak out is that I am recognising that commercial PR and marketing techniques are being used in this case, which like a radio or TV commercial keep repeating the same message.
The message is that Amanda Knox is innocent and had no involvement in this case which is contrary to circumstantial evidence.
I am looking at the case objectively and I do not want to see all these promotional efforts to pervert the cause of justice.
Knox's promotion effectively lobbies for citizens to contact their congressperson to exert pressure on Italy to prevent or at least interfere with due processes in favour of the suspect.
Do you want that someone who might or might not have had any involvement in a murder walk free, even though they might actually be guilty? Let the Court decide!
The more you lobby, the more others who believe in justice will counter lobby!
As I said, I would like the Court to decide.
I do not want that this case is decided due to the financial capacity of the murder suspect.

I have been watching this story from the day it broke. I looked at Amanda's myspace page when it was still live. I just saw the newest 48 hours on the story and I am shocked CBS only covered about half of the information. And this Paul Ciolino guy acts like he has it all figured out (and got a fat check from Amanda's parents). The other PI that 48 hours hired was cool though.
If Amanda is innocent why did she accuse Patrick of the murder?
Did you see the video of Rafael calmingly stroking Amanda the day after the murders...you could see from the expressions and body language that they were guilty!

I confess. I'm an American...and I WANT TO BELIEVE that hot little Amanda is innocent. However, there are at least three, rather incontrovertible facts, that point to her involvement.
1. Her shifting story...first the so-called "coerced confession." Since that time, she has changed her story on a number of points. This has been going on since her arrest. Innocent people don't keep changing their stories and/or remembering more details.
2. Raffaello...shifting story. She was at his place all night, the she wasn't, then she was trying to frame him with the knife. She reportedly told him to lie on her behalf. Why the lies?
3. If the reports are true, she was a pig and refused to help clean. Then the reported evidence indicates that she scoured her room and left none of her fingerprints. No fingerprints in her own room?
...not to mention her short story on the drugging and raping of a girl.
...Oh yeah, and if it is true, the April Fool's Joke on her roommates involving a simulated burglary while a student in the US. Maybe she tried to pull off another stunt like this or something like her short story and everything just went all bad because Rudy the freak was just too high.
Who knows? But let's put an end to all the anti-Italian, anti-American, anti-European, anti-African nonsense. Face it, the American spin machine is doing its job and every event like this generates a personality cult that circles up the wagons and fights to the last man. She's cute. Sex is involved. I WISH she was innocent and that I could stumble across her on a train ride...but she's not!
For the record, I've been of the belief that she was innocent until the past day or two.

Its clear Amanda gets her theatrics from her mother.
Justice needs to be served on behalf of Meredith.

Is CBS News deceiving viewers?
It can be argued, that this might not just be CBS News who might expose themselves to this question.
The lawyer Paul J. Ciolino was presented as a private investigator hired by CBS News and no mention was made that Paul J. Ciolino was/is also hired by Knox's parents. Reference:
http://www.lawyers.com/komielaw/attor... .
The intentional non-disclosure misleads the viewer to believe that Mr. Ciolino's statements are independent and and objective. By not disclosing the Principal and Agent relationship with Knox's parents being the principal and Paul J. Ciolino being the agent, a person unfamiliar with the case might arrive at the conclusion that the team of three are innocent.
I don't know if Amanda is innocent of the actual killing itself?
I don't know why Knox's PR team think they Know that Knox is innocent when the indicators to not support such a position?
Why did she clean the murder scene and did not call the police and why is she refusing to answer question?
Why does she behave in a way that makes it look as though she is guilty?
How much is Knox's PR expenditure so far?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live... .
"In the U.S., Foxy Knoxy's parents have orchestrated a media offensive to swing public opinion back in their daughter's favour. Backed by a team of public relations experts, and with the support of Joe Tacopina, one of New York's hottest defence lawyers, they have launched a no-holds-barred attack on the Italian police."

Candace Dempsey,
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/de...
You just deleted a lot of posts critical of the theory that Amanda Knox is 100% innocent.
You also deleted posts requesting disclosure regarding your relationship with the Knox family and enquiring about your censorship of free speech.
About a dozen posts disappeared in the last couple of hours.
The reason for the information disclosure is that readers might be able to make an assessment regarding your integrity.

Candace,
About halve a dozen posts of my own and about halve a dozen posts which were not written by me suddenly disappeared.
I was publishing my own posts at the same time you were publishing several of yours.
And my posts were in compliance with the rules set out in the very first post which was published by your self.
It has nothing to do with the numbering system.
It is about the disappearance of my posts.
"Actually I only deleted a few posts and not because they criticized Amanda. They were disgusting and hateful toward all women and did not belong here. Several threatened me with bodily harm. Maybe you wrote them."
You might consider a dozen posts only a few posts, it all depends on normal deleting pattern.
I did not see any posts that were disgusting and hateful towards all women that were subsequently deleted.
I did not see any post threatening you with bodily harm.
Furthermore, to your statement "Maybe you wrote them."
I certainly did not write them nor did I see them and would not be surprised if you made that up.
The posts were questions for you to disclose details such as how long before the murder you have known the Knox family and if you could disclose if you are to receive any form of benefits form the Knox family or its agents.
There were also posts stating that an O.J. Simpson or Michael Jackson like "not guilty" verdict would be most undesirable as justice should be served and with out the manipulation of opinion by Knox's agents.
"Scroll upward and you will notice that most of the comments are against Amanda, but I let them stand because the writers sound like rational human beings."
You don't delete all posts critical of Ms. Knox but you do delete a lot, and you have deleted many of my posts following previous blogs in which you were implying that Ms. Knox is "innocent".
"You've already decided that I don't have integrity, so we don't need to have any further discussion.
As far as I am concerned, someone who intentionally misrepresents information is not acting ethically and with integrity.
Candace, did you know that you can delete posts on your own blog to your hearts contend but it might be different on sites you don't control and even harder if they are out side the USA. However, they still get indexed by search engines and people can do their own research on you and come to their own conclusions.

When a PR firm offers something, I suspect biased info.
However when a journalist offers info I assume that the info is not biased, in other words I assume truthful reporting not advertising or PR in disguise.

Okay, this is an anonymous international legal / lobby group which sometimes takes up the cause of persons with strong indications of guilt, unless if it's the Perugia crime, in which case it refuses that suspect (without any effort to document the allegations nor the character of the person, other than reading Newsweek). And it takes up the cause of the person who already has a major legal and PR effort associated with it.

I don't know if there is but it would be very disturbing to see so much support for the prime murder suspect and none for the victim's family.
The victim is Meredith Kercher and Amanda Knox is not a victim, she might ultimately be convicted for first degree murder or she might not be.
I have seen the question regarding a fund for Amanda Knox's defense on other boards.
Is this yet another attempt to raise finance for the purpose of derailing justice.
This is very disturbing.
But then, my posts are usually deleted by Candace Dempsey even though they do not contravene Candace Dempsey's own rules regarding posting to her blog, see the first post on her blog.
The deleting of my posts forced me to utilise my contingency plan which is posting copies of the message to boards out side the control of Candace Dempsey.
Someone who wants a board that only allows posts which are in agreeance with the board operator should clearly specify this.
A private, non-public special interest board would be in order for this purpose.
That way is it possible to avoid the impression that what is posted on the board is representative of the population.
Furthermore, a board that give the false impression that member of the public can post to it and not have their posts deleted if they contradict the board operators view is misleading, misrepresentative and nothing less than fraud.

"There is a difference between wanting justice for Meredith which to me means finding the real murderer and needing to find Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito guilty, or even Rudy Guede for that matter. Why do you care, what is Amanda to you, or Raffaele?" "
I think that most people would want to have the real killers caught.
When reading this blog I again the distinct impression that this blog is not about catching the real killer(s) and justice but all about getting Amanda Knox out of jail.
I believe there are serious questions which lead me to believe that she might have been involved. Her behaviour does not lead one to the conclusion that she is telling the truth.

"How do we know there was a robbery? Rudy told us. But of course he tried to pin in on Amanda. "
Who said Guede tried to pin Amanda?
A highly unlikely statement, considering the other two had been much more economical with the truth.
Why would someone not want the truth revealed, could they actually be guilty?
It might be far more likely that the cohesion of the trio is breaking down and that Guede perceived that alliances might emerge against him.
Therefore, when he said that Amanda was there, that might be to let Amanda know that if she tries to present him (Guede) as the scapegoat than he (Guede) is going to talk.
Amanda's defense team might not like this.
If you are not innocent, it works for your benefit if the case appears to be convoluted, botched from the outset and so on.
Who's defense produces surmisals to that effect?

Candace,
You deleted by posting last night when I wrote that it is OK that you make statements such as:
"Also, enough about Amanda's supposed drug bills. As far as we know, she didn't have any. And, yes, she had ample money in her account at the time of her arrest. Thanks for your concern."
And
"Amanda worked her *ss off"
without providing any financial data. If you want to do this fine, but please stop calling yourself a reporter or your method reporting. Don't take that higher ground unless you are prepared to honor regularly what it means professionally to be a reporter.
You have been told in dozens of ways that the issue that well off people don't commit property crimes is nonsense. You insist though to continue to say Amanda had just enough money not to commit a crime but not too much to be a rich spoiled brat. She is just at that perfect spot to be shall we say, perfectly innocent. Now doesn't that sound foolish when put together in one sentence?
These discussions you initiate or encourage about money as a defense are irrelevant and prove nothing. Lack of money is not a virus to commit crimes nor is having money a vaccination against crime. You should put that on your monitor. People do commit crimes because of money but it is not as clear cut as whether she was raised properly or lived in a proper middle class house.
Now then, if you raise this nonsense money defense over and over again, by all means provide the actual amounts to back up your theory.
How much was in her bank account at the time of the murder?
How many times had she asked the mother ships for how much additional cash since she started college (and also while in Europe) and had they provided it?
How much did she contribute to her European trip?
What was the total budget for the trip?
How well was she keeping to it?
If you can't be a reporter about these matters then admit it is your opinion out there with all the others. That would be fine, but you would be joining the rest of us and would lose the ability to shut people up when you feel cornered without a fact to cover your opinions.
And please don't just erase me again b/c I don't see the logic of your arguments. I was not rude or abusive to you. I was just pursuing your arguments to their logical conclusions.

I don't know anyone who is involved in this case.
To an uninterested party Knox's PR efforts appear as if Knox tries to influence the cause of law.
While I can understand that parents would want the best for their children, Knox's PR campaign has certainly not convinced me that Knox has nothing to answer. I would rather say it had a negative effect on my opinion.
All three of the suspects have behaved in a way that is not commonly associated with the behaviour of a person or persons who have nothing to hide.
I do not know if they are guilty or innocent, I prefer the law to take its cause without the manipulation.
By interfering, the suspicion arises that those who are trying to interfere know something more than the rest of us, and that they believe that not to derail the process would be more dangerous to their interest.

The concept of blogs is that people post publicly, at least that is my understanding.
Therefore, if you email your opinions privately, no one but the recipient would find out about your opinion.
In other words it is counter productive to the essential concept of maintaining a blog.
A blog is a public mass communication channel for the purpose of publicly disseminating information to the masses at extremely low costs to the blog operator.
If you think about it, what would be the usefulness of discussing a topic publicly when the posters of the opposing view are requested to refrain from posting their opinion publicly but are requested to send in the information privately, only for the information to disappear and never be seen again?
Furthermore, ask yourself if by publishing only one view point and eliminating or minimising the other view point could this effect the perception of a person new to this blog?
They would be bombarded with one view point and read little about the opposing view point.
This would have the same effect as advertising has.
The repetition of a specific message effects the readers subliminally and the readers might stop to critically examine the issue and due to lack of reasoning just start to believe the message.
A blog reader might deduce that the blog is representative of the views of the community.
The problem with that is that there is no way of knowing if the blog operator "cleans up" public opinion and if so, to what extend.
I can vouch that many of my comments over the last six month on Ms Candace Dempsey's blog had been deleted just as this post disappeared form her blog.
I do admit that I had questioned numerous of Ms Dempsey's posits.

Candace Dempsey,
Why do I receive the message below?
Is it because I am not just yet convinced that your theory about someone's innocence is correct and that I have more confidence in the legal system?
Did you ever wondered why there is not a groundswell of support for the innocent Mr Charles Manson?
Perhaps he might actually be guilty?
"Error: Your IP address has been banned. You cannot submit an anonymous comment."
Why does it state that I can not comment?
With IPV4, the current Internet addressing implementation, there are 4.29 billion possible IP addresses. In order to stop comments, you will soon have to block all of them, at which point, even you can't comment on your own site. When IPV6 ("next-generation internet") comes, there will be 4 trillion unique addresses available. Won't it be a ball to manage your IP ban list then?
Never mind, just a thought...
