Senior Andy Kuharszky returns a ball against UCLA last month. Kuharszky is a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic and the president of the Washington Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Prior to the match, the Huskies will honor the sole senior member of the roster, Andy Kuharszky, who has started all four years for Washington and has earned a place at seventh on the singles career wins list with 84 victories under his belt.

“He has been an integral part of the team every year,” Washington coach Matt Anger said. “He’s done well as far as career marks go, … [but] I also think he has relished in Seattle.”

Before the Huskies begin postseason play at the Pac-10 championships, the duel against the Ducks will be the last match of the season, taking place at the Nordstrom Tennis Center or Quillian Stadium if the weather permits.

The Dawgs will face off against the University of Oregon for the second time this season.

The last time the two teams met, Washington beat the Ducks on their home turf in Eugene, Ore., 4-3.

Although the Huskies came away with the victory, it was tightly contested until the very end, when freshman Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan clinched the match for the Huskies in three sets.

Though they lost the singles matches in the bottom half of their lineup at numbers four, five and six, the Huskies have become increasingly consistent with slight changes in their rotation.

Most notable is freshman Martin Kildahl, who has not only been a solid contributor in the third doubles spot but has also demonstrated his ability to adjust to singles play, sporting a 5-0 record at the sixth singles position.

This match will be crucial for the Huskies, as it is their last chance to better their conference record of 2-5 and overall record of 13-9.

“It is a special day for seniors, … and it is my hope that plenty of fans will be there to support us and Andy in his last match,” Anger said.

The match is set for 1:30 p.m.
