Rants & Raves

Rants

Don’t open bottles you find on the beach. The state Department of Ecology believes the canisters found recently on Washington’s shores contain rat poison for use on cargo ships. Testing has not yet been done.

Three of the five people being held after a riot last month, in which patrol cars were damaged outside an event at The Evergreen State College, were on the college’s sports teams.

Raves

A Honolulu man recieved his high school class ring back after 33 years. A couple from New York got the ring from a beach-combing uncle. The inscribed initials on the ring enabled its owner to be located.

On Tuesday, water was released into the Colorado River from the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona, in a controversial step to aid fish. There is debate on how to properly balance desert dwellers’ water needs and the preservation of wildlife.
