It is a known fact (at least from my experience and observation) that people like to show off their figures — not necessarily by wearing more revealing clothing, but by purchasing tight-fitting clothing that emphasize curves, hug hips closer or enlarge the pectorals. However, many fashion styles this spring and summer are quite different; many of the articles in vogue for the brighter and warmer weather seem to be more along the lines of looser, more flowing and a bit more comfortable.

Stay cool, be comfortable and look sexy chic in a loose, breezy tank-top or blouse.
Many of you are probably wondering what classifies as a looser or free-feeling top. Well, for the most part, it shouldn’t be tight. You might have to buy the top a few sizes larger. If it’s a tank top, don’t be afraid if the neckline is too long or one of the shoulder straps slumps to one side. You will be wearing a bra (I would hope) or at least a spaghetti strap underneath to cover the girls. Make the bra strap or whatever you’re wearing underneath either white or flesh-colored so as not to distract from the looser top.
Just because it’s springtime doesn’t mean you have to go out and buy all the bright, fabulous colors for these new flowy tops. My suggestion would be neutral, pastel shades. If you do something too outrageous, such as bright blues, yellows and reds, you’ll just end up looking like a bad ‘80s music video. Baby pink, Easter yellow, eggshell white and soft sherbet orange are lovely hues to choose for your loose-fitting tops.
Solid colors are good, easy picks for your new wardrobe, but don’t be afraid to go beyond and explore patterns and shapes. Try to avoid floral patterns, as they become too monotonous and overused for the spring and summer seasons. Yes, they can be necessary to some degree, but let’s be unique this year, girls. Large, off-centered geometric shapes give the tops a more vintage, yet New Age sort of appeal.
Play with lengths, too. You don’t have to limit your tops as solely upper garments. Pick a bigger top that are longer, and they can double as a fun summer dress. Match them with a pair of three-quarter leggings and you’ll be good to go.
Accessories that pair nicely with loose tops are belts — thin belts, to be exact. Cinch the belt just above the hips to elongate the legs and emphasize the curves.
