6 p.m. — Garde Rail Gallery — The gallery will be showcasing work from black folk artist James “Buddy” Snipes through March 29.
6 p.m. — Seattle Art Museum — Art for All: “Melding composition, style and genre with the skill of Basquiat blending color, okanomodé spins song into frenzy and makes magic with his tongue.” Free.
7 p.m. — The Taproot Theatre —Director Karen Lund presents the Shakespearian tale As You Like It with a twist; the classic pastoral comedy is set amid the counterculture movements of the 1960s. $26-$33. Additional performances through March 1.
7:30 p.m. — Benaroya Hall — In “Lynn Harrell: An American Favorite,” the classical cellist Lynn Harrell performs several pieces by Varèse, Rachmaninov, and Herbert. $17-$95. Additional performances Feb. 8-9.
8:30 p.m. — The Comedy Underground — Students from the Experimental College’s beginning stand-up comedy class take to the stage in Stu Stewart’s “The Big Show.” All ages. $10.

7 p.m. — Capitol Hill Arts Center Showroom — In Mike Daisey’s “How Theater Failed America,” the comedian storyteller “seeks answers to essential and dangerous questions about the art we’re making, the legacy we leave the future and who it is we believe we’re speaking to.” Additional showings through Feb. 10. All ages. $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
7:30 p.m. (doors) — Showbox SoDo — Peratus, Hollywood Lightweights, and Tripnine, along with headlining band Trip Like Animals. 21+. $7 advanced, $10 day of show and at the door.
8 p.m. (show) — The Fusion Café — The venue presents an “AIDS-bash/AIDS-Benefit” show with a smattering of local artists including Knowmads, The First Line, Arkatype, The Globes, Project Seattle and TIS Radio. All Ages. $8.
8 p.m. — Town Hall — KBCS 91.3 FM brings Hawaiian slack key guitarist Led Kaapana to the Great Hall, along with 2007 Grammy Nominee Mike Kaawa. All Ages. $15, $12 for KBCS members.
8 p.m. — Giggles — The comedy club hosts American actor, comedian and “master of vocal gymnastics” Michael Winslow. All ages. $15. Additional showing Feb. 9 and additional 10 p.m. showing each night.
Saturday, Feb. 9
2 p.m. — The 5th Avenue Theatre — The comic musical Mame follows the eccentric Mame Dennis as her extravagant lifestyle becomes turned upside down when she is appointed guardian of her newly orphaned nephew. Encompassing the grand scope of events from the Great Depression to World War II, “Auntie Mame takes him on one whirlwind adventure after another, proving that ‘life is a banquet.’” $20-$77. Additional performances through March 2.
3 p.m. — Moore Theatre — After performing at numerous sold-out shows nationwide and two successful Comedy Central specials, ventriloquist Jeff Dunham brings Walter, Bubba J. and the rest of his “Suitcase Posse” for a night of unforgettable comedy. $25-$45.50. Additional 7 p.m. performance.
7 p.m. (doors) — Neumos — 107.7 The End presents their 2nd Annual Lonely Hearts Valentine’s Party featuring Rogue Wave, Metro Station and Barcelona. Hosted by former Loveline/ Man Show co-host Adam Corolla. 21+. Free. Tickets are only available through listening to 107.7 The End.
8 p.m. — Paramount Theatre — The all-woman African American a cappella ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock will perform classic songs, as well as those from their latest CD Experience … 101. $25-$45.50.
8:00 p.m. — Two Hours Traffic — In “Matt & Ben,” two actresses portray actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as they stumble toward the debatable genius of their happy accident, Good Will Hunting. $10-$30. Additional performances through Feb. 17.

9 p.m. (doors), 10 p.m. (show)—El Corazon — Infinite Productions presents Danish punk rock group the HorrorPops, along with opening acts The Pink Spiders, Rocket and Steve e Nix and The Cute Lepers. All ages $12 advanced, $14 day of show and at the door.

6 p.m. (doors), 7:30 p.m. (show) — Jazz Alley — The Pacific Jazz Institute presents Brazilian vocalist/pianist Eliane Elias, who, along with her band, will be promoting their latest CD; Something For You: Eliane Elias Sings and Plays Bill Evans. Elias will also be giving a live in studio interview with 98.9 KWJZ at 3 p.m. $23.50. Additional performance on Feb. 13.
8 p.m. (doors) — Showbox at the Market — Former Fugees star Wyclef Jean returns to the Showbox in what is sure to be a sold-out show as he performs songs from his latest CD, Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant.
