Dawgs to end season vs. rival WSU

The Washington women will be back in the water Saturday to finish out the season against rival Washington State. The meet is scheduled for 11 A.M. at the Husky Pool on campus.

The Husky women are 10-4 overall, sitting at 2-4 in Pac-10 conference action. They have won their past six meets, with the last loss coming against Arizona State on Jan. 5 in Tempe, Ariz.

The Cougars will enter the meet 5-1 overall. Their only loss was also against the Sun Devils in November.

The Huskies are led by junior Kim Jasmer, who holds school records in four individual events as well as two relay events.

“WSU is a good team. We can not take them lightly, but I have complete confidence in our success this weekend,” Jasmer said of the Cougars.

The Huskies will be looking to avenge last year’s loss to the Cougars in Pullman, Wash., in which they were soundly defeated 153.5-108.5.

This is the last regular season meet for both teams. They will both travel to the Pac-10 championships Feb. 27-March 1 in Long Beach, Calif.

“Our conference meet should be amazing and we are very excited to get a chance to show that we have taken that step from a good to great,” Jasmer said.
