Voting can be daunting, especially when it’s your first time heading to the polls. To alleviate stress and make today a little bit easier, The Daily has put together a voting how-to.
For those who plan to vote at the polling places, be sure to leave enough time to get there and vote. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To figure out which poll to vote at, visit the King County Web site. There, students can input their name and birthday to find the closet polling place.
Before heading over to the polls, don’t forget to grab a form of identification. A driver’s license, student ID or a paycheck are a few acceptable forms.
Absentee voters can return their ballots to any polling location, but are unable to vote a regular poll ballot. If an absentee voter wants to vote at the polls, they must vote a provisional ballot.

Provisional ballots are counted after election officials verify the voter’s eligibility to cast a ballot. This takes between five and nine days to complete and once verified, the ballot is added to the official count.
The process is easy and simple, so good luck today and make those votes count.

I turned in my ballot to the library drop box. However, I forgot to include my secure envelope inside the bigger envelope. Will my ballot be counted or will it be tossed out?
