Swimmers compete in Texas

The UW swim teams headed to Texas this weekend to keep their season chugging until their next home meet two weeks from now.

The Huskies had a mix of success at the Art Adamson Invitational on the Texas A&M campus.

The UW women finished seventh out of a field of 10, while the men finished sixth out of eight.

Junior Erin Campbell had the most success for the women. She finished first in the preliminaries of the 200 breast stroke with a 1:57.07.

On the men’s side, senior Jon Banker fared well and finished ninth in the 100 freestyle preliminary and 10th in the final.

Both teams faced competition from all parts of the country and will look to attract other teams to Seattle when the Dawgs host the Husky Invite at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center shortly before winter break.
