He busts out a brutal robot dance in FIFA 09. He snubbs reality TV princesses such as Lauren Conrad of The Hills. With a winning smile and a winning record, Cristiano Ronaldo of the Manchester United Football Club is practically the poster boy for European soccer.
It’s still a question though as to whether this media storm surrounding Ronaldo is a good or bad thing for the sport. But either way, it seems as if Ronaldo could care less. He’s the quintessential playboy.
Never mind being one of the top players in the English Premier League. Never mind being young and talented enough on the pitch to earn enough votes to place third in the FIFA World Player of the Year honors; the Portuguese winger seems to be catching the media’s attention for all his antics away from the field.
His private life seems to be anything but ordinary.
Although he is reportedly single, if you Google his former flames, actress Gemma Atkinson or Spanish model Nedeira Gallardo, you’ll find pictures that are not quite as classy as his plays on the soccer field; these ladies have trouble keeping their tops on but have décolletage to make Pamela Anderson jealous.
To add fuel to the fire, earlier last year Ronaldo was questioned by his club for “inviting” five hookers to his home — one of many times he’s been questioned for such actions.
Of course, no playboy would be complete without a fast and shiny car to drive around in.
He’s a red devil on the pavement with multiple Bentleys, BMWs and Porsches to his name. His garage contains more than $4 million worth of vehicles.
Apparently he’s under the impression that driving the same car for more than a week is just plain unacceptable.
Fans still love the guy though, and it’s hard to blame them. The 23-year-old possesses so many impressive skills and stats they can’t all be listed. Some of these include scoring 19 goals from 78 shots last season — the highest percentage of any player — and topping the dribbling chart with 108 runs.
Last year, he was voted the Professional Football Association’s Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season and Fans’ Player of the Season. People just can’t get enough of this guy.
He’s got the step-overs and tricks that can mesmerize you on the field and the Casanova-like qualities to charm your pants off away from the field — metaphorically speaking, of course.
What more could you ask for from a world-class soccer star?
