The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Petit Corona Natural (5x38) is medium bodied with a medium-full flavor.
This handmade cigar is tightly packed, as indicated by a slow draw, light gray ash, and a very even burn. Available for about $3.50-4.50 at a store like Sam’s Smokes — located at 42nd Street and the Ave, — this is a delicious, affordable smoke, especially for those comfortable with a harsher tobacco and the resulting lightheadedness.
Its petite size makes for a more succinct smoking experience — 30-35 minutes — but not one lacking in flavorful complexity.
The cigar had an almond finish throughout, but started with a more generally nutty flavor, closer perhaps to hazelnut than almond; the middle tasted sweeter, with a coffee tone; it proceeded more bitterly, and ended with an earthy, leafy taste.
This is a highly enjoyable cigar for an intermediate smoker looking for a short and sweet Fuente affair, and is available at many retailers of premium cigars.
