2007 Sebeka Savignon Blanc

The 2007 Sebeka Sauvignon Blanc is a fantastic wine.

With a crisp, citrus aroma, this fruit-driven wine bursts with dry, tropical fruit flavors of melon and gooseberry with underlying herbal tones. The flavor is accented with dry, mineral notes evoking rich soil.

Refreshing and tangy, Sebeka Sauvignon Blanc is best enjoyed chilled, where the bright acidity plays well with Asian — specifically Indian — cuisines.

The tropical fruit and mineral qualities of this wine come from its slow fermentation under cool temperatures in upright steel tanks. Hand-picked grapes were crushed and steeped overnight, helping the wine retain its natural acidity and vivacious fruity character.

Sauvignon Blanc peaks within a year of bottling, so enjoy this wine soon.

Garnering accolades from 10 wine competitions, Wine Enthusiast recognized Sebeka Savignon Blanc as a “Best Buy,” while the Dallas Morning News chose it as a “Wine of the Week” for its high scores from both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast.

Sebeka (pronounced se-BEEK-ah) wines come from South Africa, and include several classic, as well as unique, varieties to be enjoyed at a reasonable price. Sebeka Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful wine to be enjoyed any time.

I didn't care for this wine much last night, having it with fish. I made a curry tonight, and the wine was a good complement. It does go well with Indian cuisine.
