La Musica

Also Playing:

Vindaloo, Ms. Led (record release), Shorthand for Epic and The Snakebites (Friday, 9 p.m., Sunset Tavern, 21+, $7).

The New Year and Dave Bazan of Pedro the Lion (Saturday, doors at 8 p.m., Crocodile Café, 21+, $10).

Slender Means, Whalebones and Fair (Saturday, 9:30 p.m., Tractor Tavern, 21+, $6).

Drive It Like You Stole It, Looker (from NYC) and guests (Sunday, 9 p.m., Sunset Tavern, 21+, $6).

The Devil Makes Three, Colin Spring and Casey Ruff (Tuesday, 9 p.m., Tractor Tavern, 21+, $8 advance, $10 day of show).

Not two weeks after Pretty Girls Make Graves played their farewell show at Neumo's, bassist Derek Fudesco (also formerly of Murder City Devils) returns with his new band, The Cave Singers. Their mellow, acoustic sound — think shoegazery while scuffling along a dusty country road; better yet, try camping in the Cascades — will certainly help ease you over the mid-week hump (tonight, Neumo's, doors at 8 p.m., 21+, $8, with Lightning Dust and Carrie Biell).

If, on the other hand, you prefer it rough, head on down south to Studio Seven for KISW's Metal Shop, featuring Necrophagist, Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation and, well, you get the idea (tonight, 7 p.m., all ages, $20).

Better yet, check out The Horrors, who await you at The Crocodile Café with local veterans Thee Emergency and Skullbot. All three fall solidly in the garage rock category, with Thee Emergency tossing in a healthy dose of R&B (tonight, doors at 8 p.m., all ages, $12).
