Tonight, the UW will host a memorial service for Rebecca Griego, the UW staff member killed in Gould Hall earlier this month. The service will be held in Kane Hall from 5-6 p.m., with a reception in the Kane Hall foyer immediately following.
The service is open to all who would like to pay respects. The victim’s family, friends and colleagues will be in attendance.
In a letter to the University community, President Mark Emmert urged students, faculty and staff to join him in “honoring [Griego’s] memory and reflecting on the talents and gifts she brought to our community in her brief time here.”
A memorial scholarship fund has been established in her name. The scholarship is for students in the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies –— the department where Griego worked.
