Spring Career Fair in the HUB today

Share

The annual Spring Career Fair will take place today from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the HUB Ballroom and will feature more than 140 employers including Microsoft, CBS Radio, Deloitte Consulting, LLC, the Seattle Police Department, The Seattle Times and Nordstrom.

The event, designed for students and graduates seeking employment or internship opportunities, will be hosted by the Center for Career Services (CCS).

[The Spring Career Fair] is the largest general career fair — it is not degree specific,” said Emma O’Neill, job listings and event coordinator for the center.

This “well-rounded” event has many objectives; it is an opportunity for employment and internships, as well as gaining company information and practicing communicating with employers.

The one-day event will feature employer booths categorized by industry: government, business and non-profit. A complete list of employers in attendance can be found on the CCS Web site. Students can also browse the 40-page guide summarizing the employers in addition to company information, position openings and specific degrees that employers are seeking, O’Neill said.

The market is competitive for the employers, so it is truly an opportunity for students and graduates seeking employment or internships,” said Rebecca Levy, associate director for the center.

The event is free, though students must bring their ID. Although it is not required, event organizers suggest bringing a résumé and dressing in business attire.
