From the outside, Costas Opa looks like an unassuming Greek restaurant. Inside, however, the spacious restaurant provides nice space for a casual afternoon lunch date or dinner with friends. The family-owned restaurant is decorated wall-to-wall with Greek trinkets and murals. Owner Costas Antonopoulos started the restaurant 26 years ago.
"Nothing was here. My friends would tease me and say we could feed the ducks," he said.
A meal starts with a bowl of fresh seasonal fruit instead of the typical bread and butter. The Gyros sandwich plate, at $5.75, comes with a side of rice or seasoned Greek potatoes, and soup for an additional $1.50. The Fasolada bean and vegetable soup is a light option that won't spoil your entré, but the avgolemono soup made with chicken stock, eggs, rice and lemon juice is a Greek staple that's too irresistible to pass up.
Everything is made from scratch, prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are generous.
