For people interested in donning the latest fashions at exorbitant prices, this small boutique and its sister store Dream are the right places to shop. Known for its selection of exclusive denim, Bliss has basic clothing staples in unconventional styles and colors.
"We're the place where people come to get dressed up for Friday night," owner Neil Silverman said.
Most items are priced beyond college student budgets, but that perfect, one-of-a-kind piece may warrant a splurge. A T-shirt with a graphic design for women costs $38, and a men's buttoned shirt decorated with a bright floral pattern costs $178. A pair of jeans will set you back at least $100, and the store makes free alterations.
Above the display of women's Fidelity denim there is a small display of "Celebs in Fidelity This Month" that includes Eva Longoria. One of the most noticeable products are the Takeouts, which are silicone inserts that give you instant cleavage. They come in a hot pink takeout box and cost $48.
Silverman said that some customers shop at Bliss because of its exclusive selection and want to know that they will be the only people wearing a particular item. At these prices, anyone who's wearing Bliss' clothes at the UW can rest easy knowing no one else will be.
