Staff Editorial : The Daily's Valentine Dos and Don'ts

Every year, we at The Daily look at some Valentine's traditions and say "awww", or alternatively, "ewww". This is a brief list of things that should and should not be done tomorrow on a fantastic love-filled day.

Top Five Dos for Valentine's Day:

1. DO wish your parents and single friends a happy Valentine's Day. However, avoid anything that resembles a pity party.

2. Girls: DO realize that this is not just about you. Get your guy something and make an effort to let him know you care.

3. DO get a room. None of us care to see you canoodle, and please respect your roommates. They will thank you.

4. DO be reasonable and thoughtful. Nobody's buying gifts for the late Princess Di, so make it about quality and not the quantity, folks.

5. Just DO IT. But do it safely.

Top Five Don'ts for Valentine's Day:

1. DON'T break up on Valentine's Day. Put it off for at least a day; suck it up and suffer just 24 more hours.

2. DON'T forget. Yes, girls remember, and yes, we do care.

3. DON'T wear Valentine's Day paraphernalia.

4. DON'T give essential oils as a gift. Not everyone likes how they smell, and besides, some of them lead to temporarily enlarged breasts in boys.

5. DON'T give candy hearts for the 20th year in a row. They taste like chalk. Spend a few more dollars, and get a nice chocolate bar.
