The University of Washington Town Hall meeting will take place today at 3:30 p.m. in 102 Johnson Hall.
Phyllis Wise, the UW’s provost and executive vice president, will host the meeting. Wise has been a part of the University administration since August 2005.
The provost’s Town Hall meeting happens twice a year and is a chance for the UW community to connect on issues that affect students, staff and faculty.
“At this meeting, I will share more about the progress made with our campus and student safety initiatives and the innovations surrounding the College of the Environment, as well as other topics,” Wise said in an e-mail.
Other topics will be addressed at the meeting, like where the University is headed.
All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the event and hear what is going on around campus.
The meeting offers an opportunity for discussion throughout the community, said Norm Arkans, the UW’s executive director of media and communications.
The Town Hall meeting also gives the UW community an opportunity to ask any questions it may have about the practices or progress of the University.
The meeting will be no longer than an hour, according to Heather Mair, assistant to the provost.
For those who cannot make it onto campus for the meeting, there will be a live broadcast of the evening on www.washington.edu.
The event is free and seating is first come, first serve.
