UW researcher's remains identified

Remains from an alley fire on Front Street South in Issaquah were identified yesterday as those of visiting UW scholar Hung-Ren Wang. He was 26 years old.

Wang, under the temporary employ of the chemical engineering department, was discovered behind commercial buildings at around 11 p.m. on Oct. 12, when a passing motorist reported the fire to local authorities.

The circumstances of Wang’s death are still under investigation according to the King County Medical Examiner’s office, although an earlier press release said the police are considering the possibility of homicide.
