UW MBA program ranked 27th in world
The UW’s Master of Business Administration program (MBA) was ranked 27th in The Economist’s list of the top-100 MBA programs in the world.
The list, released yesterday, evaluates MBA programs based on four key criteria: the ability to open new career opportunities; personal development and educational experience; increase in salary; and potential to network. The criteria were determined through a survey of approximately 20,000 students around the world.
“We have been recognized for our strength in international programs,” said Dan Poston, assistant director in the MBA program office. “I am pleased to see our program perform so well in an international MBA ranking that specifically focuses on our ability to deliver what students value most.”
The full list and ranking, available at www.which-mba.com, puts the UW’s program at 17th among U.S. schools. It has been published annually for 18 years, although this is the first time UW has been on the list, said Nancy Gardner, spokesperson for the business school.
“Since it’s our first year, I’m pleased to be on the list,” Poston said. “Certainly it’s an honor.”
Among individual criteria, UW ranked 24th for opening new career opportunities; 16th for personal development and educational experience; 82nd for increase in salary; and 53rd for potential to network. UW’s overall ranking beat out such prestigious programs as Carnegie Mellon, Duke University, Notre Dame and Oxford.
